What is the correct way to curl your hair with a flat iron?

Help please?! I thought there were several ways to do this but I have tried and am still not sure how to do it without kinking/crimping my hair.

***No you-tube video tutorials, please. Unfortunately, I cannot view that website @ work b/c it is blocked...lol***What is the correct way to curl your hair with a flat iron?
you can curl it in different ways, depending on how you would like your curls to look.

The biggest thing to consider when choosing a flat iron is to bear in mind that irons today are versatile enough to create a variety of styles beyond just straightening

- Begin with the first section of hair about 1'; wide, and hold it at the ends. Place the iron vertically over the section. Close the plates gently; lightly grip the hair while rotating the iron slowly as it is glided down toward the ends.

- To create bigger curls, take larger sections of hair and use the same rotating motion.

- To create ringlet curls you have to start at the roots and with the curling iron open in a shape like this %26lt;, wrap your hair around one barrel, and the hold it shut for about 5 - 10 seconds.

-it's usually easier if you have a flat iron that has a curved end.

Good Luck, I would just experiment with it a little. What is the correct way to curl your hair with a flat iron?
twirling motion
If the iron is FLAT, how can you CURL? You need a curling iron!
um correct me if I am wrong

but aren't flat irons for straightening????????????
Bend the flat iron *** you come to the tips of your hair.
Take about a 1'; section of hair, clamp the flat iron near the scalp, turn the iron so the hair is twisted around it, pull straight out.
is this the same person that asked how to straiten hair with curling iron
there is no correct way to do it, there are several ways and it depends how long your hair is and thick etc...

i clamp it at the root of my hair and twist and pull slowly down.

however i was told you should twist it both towards and away form you on different sections of hair to give it a more natural look about it :S

hope it works for you..
